The Storyteller in Me – Sleep Strikes

Sleep went on strike.

Oh my God! exclaimed the mothers

How will the kids get rest, worried the fathers.

Yay! said the little children, no more sleeping means so much more playing.

Why? asked the mothers.

Please come back to the little children’s eyes said the fathers.

No said Sleep.

Children dont like me, they keep refusing me entry into their eyes. I am tired of knocking. They dont want me, they cant have me.

Please said the mothers. Do come back said the fathers.

Yay! said the children, now no more Sleep troubling us to sleep.

Sometime later the children got tried. And theygot cranky.

They are missing Sleep said the parents.

No said the children and continued to play. Now their eyes are closed by themselves.

Off we go to meet Sleep said the little ones.

Sleep Sleep come to us, we need you to give us some rest.

Will you say you dont want me again? asked Sleep.

Never, you come to us when we are tired and give us the rest we need to grow.

Of course, said Sleep and put all the little ones off to sleep.
