What will you say about a book which results in this…
7.15 PM – R comes in with RD
7.45 PM – R is still doing her homework when RD removes the book
8.15 PM– We are making the nevidya for Jamasthami
8.45 PM – We eat our dosa and start reading the book
9.30 PM – We have read the book EIGHT Times (4 times in English and 4 times in Gujarati) and we have laughed aloud the same way as we did the first time.
Moral of the timings – THE BOOK ROCKS!
and oh the story of the timing doesnt end there…
Next day morning as Amma is trying to squeeze herself into that jeans that is not going up her thighs, the brat starts again ‘Have you see a crow that cooks?’ heheheheeheheh 🙂 and she dissolves into giggles..reading each page….the brat has already associated the text to the pictures!

A book that triggers the imagination of the kid, of things which you would never imagine that a normal daily used/seen thing does…
Gosh! its amazing..the other good part is that Tulika has published it as bilingual..so you have a Hindi/Marathi/Tamizh/Gujarati version along with the English version.

I would recommend the book to anyone with a kid honestly. While Tulika says 3+, I think even kids as young as 1.5 years/2 years who have just started understanding things, will find it funny..and the older kids of 5-7 years will love it because it will challenge the set thoughts which we teach them.
Its a super read. Thank you Artnavy for the wonderful and superb text, thank you Roomani for the splendid illustrations and thank you Tulika for publishing it 🙂

When i read such reviews on books for kids esp. the ones by Tulika, I often wonder how the book looks like inside. I owuldn’t mind buying one for myself 😛

Tulika should pay you for the PR! I am looking for books for Benji… I got the mango one and although he didn’t take to it at first, it’s everyday reading now (well, storytelling more than reading). Is this one bilingual? Maybe I’ll learn something from it too.

This sounds like such a fun book! I wish I came across this a few years back. Poohi, I’m afraid is no longer in the phase of mind for these books -She would have loved them a couple of years back.

RM m thinking of buying it for myself 🙂 Kids books are totally amazing . I had a library membership in calcutta and all I did there was going to kids section to read and laugh the entire time.
