Of Eating At An Australian Household!

We are staying with a wonderful couple at Brisbane. The husband is RD’s friend from years ago, working in the same organization. They had hosted RD a few years ago and then RD had promised them that he would bring his family along some day to stay 🙂

They send gifts every year for R and R2 on their bdays.Every year all the way from Oz to India! Pretty clothes, lovely toys and a gorgeous hand written card. We have been so lucky to have them as friends!

We have had some amazing dinners with them. I learnt so much about the Australian way of eating. A dinner usually is meat and three vegetables but some of the stuff is so interesting!

Like we had a simple salad with eggs, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, capsicum and cheese. It was the yummiest thing I have had! And then we had this potato bake which had a prep time of like 20 minutes and 5 ingredients 🙂 And a pumpkin sweet potato bake which was so simple to make. A absolutely simple stir fry of Broccoli beans and cauliflower was the highlight one day!

The food was so simple and flavorful. The best part was that it was extremely easy to make.

Today we had an absolutely gorgeous dinner of vegetable lasagna and egg quiche. I havent seen anything so awesome looking! Take a look

I have learnt so much about cooking in the past 10 days. I am so glad we made this trip here. Little tips from our friend for a more efficient kitchen and home is my second best takeaway from this trip. The first, of course, is the awesome memories we make here 🙂

The dishes you mention here are so very interesting. I have had such food only at restaurants, and have no clue about how to cook them at home. Would love to learn!
