Risms Return

RM: R hold your head straight, I cant tie this ribbon

R: Amma, aaj zara hairband wear karein kya?

RM: no rey baba, teacher said two chotis with ribbons..tomorrow you have children’s day party, you can wear hairband okie?

R: haan, wohi mein pressure karti hoon

RM: Pressure?

R: arey wohi pressure karti hoon amma…

RM: Pressure kya hota hai…pressure kyun karte ho aap?

R: arey amma, wohi mera pressure hai

RM: oh wait, woh tum PREFER karte ho

R: yes amma, pressure pressure

RM: !!!!

======

RD and I have finished a discussion on Balasaheb Thackeray’s death, when R is listening to all that…after sometime..

R: Amma, hum dead ho jate hain toh kya hota hain

RM: Well, you just fall asleep

R: Toh umachi ke paas kaise jate hain

RM: Well, umachi comes and takes you

R: Phir woh apne ko star bana dete hain

RM: yes

R: Acha, toh phir dead hone se pain nahi hota hain

RM: Well, you dont feel anything after you are dead na

R: Acha toh phir main kabhi dead hoyegi, toh acha hoyega na..koi pain nahi koi blood nahi koi injection nahi

RM: !!!!

===========

R wants to kalkand…I give her some

R: Amma, please one more de do na

RM: No R, you have had enough..you will get a tummy ache

R: Arey amma, mera tummy maang raha hai, main nahi maang rahi, usko koi ache nahi ho raha

RM: !!!!

========

I make some moong chilla for breakfast one day

R: Yeh mereko acha nahi lagta

RM: Arey why, you toh eat in the daycare na

R: Arey aap toh S aunty jaisa acha khana nahi banate, woh ekdum mast banate hain, aap toh okay okay banate ho

RM: Gah!

I gave her cornflakes and milk for breakfast that day…

Trust your daughter to tell you the absolute truth

=====

I am keeping the patrams in their shelf in the night while RD is drying the clothes…R is running between both her parents trying to figure out whom she can trouble more

R: Amma, apna kitchen Barodu thathi jaisa kyun nahi hai?

RM: Kyun, unke kitchen mein kya hai?

R: Arey unka kitna..kitna..kitna…unka kitna clean hai, apna kyun nahi hai?

RM: !!!

Darn Amma, see what visiting you for a week led to?

=======

Since amma was alone as Appa had gone out of town towards the end of our Diwali trip, and R was concerned about her thathi being alone with thatha, she asked me to stay for a extra few days at Goa

RM: arey we cant stay, aapka school is starting na

R: Toh main yahan pe Goa mein study kar loongi na

RM: But, then Amma Appa dont have a job here na

R: Toh find karo na

RM: !!!

Just what I need now..a career counseller?

=====

RD is planning a quick visit to Shirdi today and tomorrow. I refused to accompany him since my bum is yet to recover from the Goa trip’s numbness.

RD is not taking R since he is going by bus with a friend and no seats are available for her. R thinks every temple Appa goes to needs her to go along thanks to the Sabari malai trip.

So she is a bit disappointed.

Yesterday both of them were cuddling on the bed.

RD: I love you a lot R

R: okie

RD: Dont ever leave me and go in hope that she gives him a kiss and a cuddle πŸ™‚

R: Why shouldnt I? Aap mereko kal chod ke ja rahe hain na Shirdi aapke friend ke saath

Bechara RD, he didnt know what hit him πŸ™‚

  1. LOL LOL LOL
    She is so cute!
    She must be hearing a lot of ‘pressure’ around her, maybe? That’s why the word could have stuck on to her.

  2. LOOOOOOOOVED these πŸ™‚ Hehehehehe that last one was a clincher alright!

  3. Sumana says:

    Loved it. She is growing smarter and more by the days. Kya RM, S aunty ke jaisa nahin banathey ho aur thathi jaisey kitchen nahin rakthey ho. R, am with you baby. The Risms posts have become less these days, need more.

  4. Amit says:

    Have you thought about writing a book which will have collection of all the risms?
    I liked the last one the most because Geet still does that when I go for an office party leaving her alone.

    Yaayyy thanks for the Risms RM. I get reminded of my 3 year old niece while reading about R, the other day my sister was telling me how she doesn’t talk to the kid when she doesn’t listen to something sis says, and later she comes and tells sis, ‘hans do na mummy, smile kardo na’.. lol πŸ™‚

  10. Ashwathy says:

    LOL! Pressure to prefer!! That must have given you another heart-attack! πŸ˜€ She sure is experimenting liberally with words… πŸ˜›

    Acha toh phir main kabhi dead hoyegi, toh acha hoyega na..koi pain nahi koi blood nahi koi injection nahi
    Atleast you don’t have to worry about consoling her being upset about someone’s death! :mrgreen:

    She’s already comparing your cooking and your cleanliness in the kitchen, eh??!! And you thought your husband was the one who is expected to do that πŸ™„

    My God, what is the speed at which she is growing up!! 😯 I m still reeling!!

    • R's Mom says:

      Dont ask Ashwathy…like I keep mentioning she is responsible for half my grey hairs..the other half, I must admit is due ot work pressure πŸ™‚

  25. Read all your posts first thing in the morning since a long time,yours is one of the best blogs I have ever read. And R’isms are something I can’t afford to miss,she is one cute child.

    I wonder how you really manage to put thoughts here every single day with that hectic schedule, a child and managing a home,I am in complete awe of you RM πŸ™‚

  26. Nidaa says:

    I ws feeling angry and moody all day for no effing reason. Then I cant stop my face-splitting smile (no exaggerations)… “Acha toh phir main kabhi dead hoyegi, toh acha hoyega na..koi pain nahi koi blood nahi koi injection nahi” I need to take lessons from super-duper sunny natured R – always looking at the bright side. Thaankss

  27. Hehehehe….her tummy is asking for more kalakand RM. R is one heck of a funny kid!

    The Goa one made me so wistful. Kids are so naive and innocent, everything is so simple for them. My nephew once said that to his dad, my cousin, (on a trip to India) we should just stay here in India, and I can go to school here, and you should just get a job here.

  28. R’s comments are priceless..cracks me up every time. Such a cutie. πŸ™‚ You should seriously consider compiling a book with her Risms… :D.

  29. This girl is super cute..She talks so innocently and straight forward. She is one smart cookie. Hugs from this Aunt all the ay from other end of the world πŸ™‚
