The Return of R…..

……was not marked with any pomp 🙂 their train was delayed and by the time they reached home, it was 9 in the night on Saturday…

I was sitting on the computer and FIL opened the door…I went towards the door, and R peeped in to check if I was behind her thatha..and then her face broke into a HUGE grin threatening to split her face into two and then she ran towards me and hugged me tight…for all those who think, I got all emotional, well I didnt *Rolls eyes* I started removing her shoes 🙂

She looked and me and kept touching my face…she touched my nose first, then my eyes beneath the soda bottle glasses, my lips and my ears and then tugged my hair..‘Amma’ she said with a huge smile and thats when I got a bit sentimental 🙂

Why didnt you come to the temple? asked MIL ‘everyone’s mothers were there..RD had asked you to get the car and come na’ Errr..and the spell broke and I didnt reply anything..I was just in my own sweet world with R hugging me all the time for about 5 minutes..

Reunion complete, she started talking dime a dozen on how she had 2 ice creams and 1 packet of lays (Food is our favorite topic in the family)

Some nuggets

Amma, Lays manje chips..potato chips okay?

Yaa right?

Amma, she claims proudly, I can now climb upar neeche on the train ka berths kudhse…Errr..who taught you R, I ask

Koi nahi, I learnt it myself she responds 🙂

RD tells me, she tells him ‘Aapne chappal dala hai, thathi ne dala hai, toh main kyun daalu? (Are you wearing chappals, is thathi wearing chappals then why should I?) when he asked her to wear chappals while boarding the train 🙂

She was the darling of the group since she was the youngest..she managed to charm her way through the group eating enough chocolates which she hasnt eaten in her life time (Errrr..which is not even four years, but still!)

She climbed the malai without issues except the last part which the group leader carried her..she had her baths with different aunties, combed her hair with different aunties and called everyone mamas and mamis, got pampered by the other kids older to her and in short enjoyed her trip to the fullest..

RM: Did you miss me R?

R: Nahi

RM: no?

R: no Amma, main toh bahut enjoy kiya..did you miss me?

RM: !!!!

She told RD ‘Mereko baar baar amma se talk nahi karna, main Bombay jake talk karungi’ (Dont ask me to talk to Amma, I will talk to her when I go to Bombay)

After the Malai climb when she came down, she went to her thathi and said in her ear ‘Thathi, abhi main temples jake bore ho gayi hoon, aur  kitna temples hai? (Thathi I am bored of going to temples, how many more do we have to do now?) 🙂

As per the overall report, she was pretty much a darling..as per the father, she ‘knew’ when to throw a tantrum and troubled him only when it was not a major problem *Rolls eyes*

As per her thathi she didnt trouble at all..but I dont take my MIL’s views at face value..R can go and jump on an expensive sofa and break the costliest of crystals and lose a 10 kg gold chain (what its possible for her okay?) and yet MIL will manage to claim that her grand daughter is innocent!

People are congratulating me? and I wonder why,…I didnt even go..but apparently, not many mothers will send their not-even-four kids alone it seems..Gah! are they joking???

It was her star birthday on the day she climbed the malai and apparently the entire group of 35 people sang happy birthday to her and she was so so happy and elated…RD says her expression was worth a million dollars 🙂

Yesterday, as I started the struggle of combing her hair she tells me ‘Amma, mereko chotu baby kabhi milegi? (Amma, when will I get my chotu baby?) Errr..now where did that come from out of the blue, I wonder???

She has come back with an awesome tan and a slight injury in the foot, and of course she has also come back with a lot of confidence, a lot of fun and a whole  new set of friends, uncles and aunties..for someone, who is yet to turn four, I think its been an awesome experience for her 🙂

===

and for all those who asked me if I missed RD..ah! well…I missed fighting with him for sure..made that up by having a major argument on Saturday night itself..
then I called up on Monday evening on the home landline..

RM: Hello Appa??? (I thought that was FIL)

The voice: nahi RD bol raha hoon..(no this is RD speaking)

Ah! well, if I cant even recognize this guy’s voice on the phone, wonder if I really missed him at all 😉

RM, you and your daughter are both very brave people! A great experience for all involved methinks. I think a million times to leave the kids with their grandparents even to go for a small shopping trip, back home. And if my husband has to even look after one of the kids for more than a day at stretch, I don’t know, never has happened so far 🙂 Way to go!!

    • R's Mom says:

Aiyo please da..we are not brave or anything..it just happened..and honestly CW, I would not leave R without one of the parent..I mean either me or RD HAS to be there…I am very clear on that 🙂
