Of Friends Lost and Friends Re-discovered

So RS is my friend from college…he is a sweet guy who is extremely knowledgeable and the only one in his family of goldsmiths (they are sonis from generations) to become an engineer….he lived in a joint family when we were in college and I always found his house very vibrant whenever I went there with the grandparents, his uncles, his cousins, his aunties and everyone going along together meshing in the daily life grind

In his generation, his uncles and his father had all sons..basically I think they are three brothers and all of them had sons..no daughters…but RS – he has two daughters and so do his cousins..and daughters are very very welcome in the family because they were craving for daughters for almost a generation πŸ™‚

So RS’s older daughter is 2006 born..the year I got married…RS wrote to me this story of her first friend…

RS works for an engg firm in Gurgaon…its a different world for him but he being he and bhabhi being the sweetheart, they have adjusted well there..

RS’s daughter Aadhu…she is a cutie pie..She speaks with a sweet accent I think due to the one year they spent in the US when RS was on deputation there πŸ™‚

One day when she went to playschool in Gurgaon, she found a girl speaking Telugu..now Aadhu cant speak a word of Telugu and the little girl (TG) cant speak a word of Hindi..and yet both of them managed to converse with each other, become fast friends so much so that when RS used to go and drop her to school, the girl’s father wondered how these two kids got to be such good friends, and came up to speak with RS…eventually even RS and the kids dad became good friends and the family moved to the ground floor of RS’s place and the friend ship between Aadhu and TG became really really good with Aadhu teaching TG how to speak Hindi and how to get street smart in Gurgaon πŸ™‚

about two weeks ago RS wrote to me, saying that Aadhu lost her first best friend since TG’s family is moving to Baroda as TG’s dad has got a job there….Though RS was glad that Aadhu and her sister and mom had gone to their hometown and Aadhu wasnt around when he went to drop TG and family to the station…otherwise he wonders what would have happened…I reckon, major drama πŸ™‚

Isnt that sad..losing your first ever best friend 😦

And then RS re-discovered his friendship with one of our other friends AR who went for a week from Mumbai to Delhi..since Bhabhi and kiddos were in the hometown and RS was alone at home, AR stayed with him..the two of them painted the town redAR’s office was in the next building to RS’s office, they would go to office together come back and cook food together, go sight seeing together…in short, very much behaved like a married couple :):)

It was fun said RS in the phone to me…I had real fun staying with AR and re-lived the college days..

So same family, when one lost her friend, the other re-discovered it!

Life is like that I think!
